You are not paying for the conten you already have. You're paying for the new content in Chapter 2. Chapter 2 won't exactly have the six original classes... you'd be missing out on a bunch of skills without Chapter 1. I don't know why you're having a difficult time understanding that.

Again, you're paying for NEW content....just because there is a bit of overlap doesn't mean you're paying for old content. That's like saying paying to watch a movie sequel is paying for old content just because it stars the same character.

Gratz to AN for making chap2 look so cool, but one concern springs to mind.I mean to me, this looks like AN are using chap2 to wipe out all the bad things that went on in cap1, e.g exploits and bugs...I know AN are making a whole new area and stuff like that, with new profs aswell. But what about the old world and old chars? are they abandoned? Nearly every one i know who plays GW has put alot of hours into their chars and would be heart broken to start again from fresh in and have to go through another pre-sear noob training area..If so... GW isn't really a MMO, yeah they make addons like SF and stuff like that.. But then they bring out a whole new game for chap 2..? Forcing old and loyal players to make a fresh char and proceed through all the noob stuff again and again..Why don't they just follow on with the story of chap1, enabling for lvl growth to 30-40? Including new skills, pets, monsters etc the list goes on..That way, GW would add up to one huge mfkr game that has 4 chapters and max lvl 100!! possibly the biggest and best MMO ever.

/sigh

Read the freaking thread. Old characters will be able to play in the new world and new characters can play in the old world. You'll be able to change the secondary

Anet never advertised as an MMO. They went through great lengths on this selling point. This is one reason why the lvl cap is low. GW is not an MMO in the traditional sense, never has been nor will it every be.

Again please read some of the thread. All these issues you bring up have been addressed at least once per page. If you want to lvl go play WoW or CoH. GW has promised they won't raise the caps.

Again please read the thread. Oh wait. One more thing: please read the thread.

Now for the REAL question. If i have 2 chapter 1 accounts, am i going to have to buy 2 chapter 2 accounts?(in order to play with chapter 2 stuff with both accounts) I'm guessing yes.
Well that makes sense, you have 2 account with 2 different emails means 2 account.
So that means that you need to buy 2 chaopter 2s.

Think about it, your 2 accounts are like having 2 different people with an account each. They wont be able to share the same chapter 2. Each one needs to buy a copy of chapter 2.

Been suggested by forum posters many times. I recall it was mentioned as a possibilty in some way. However, no defenite answer has been given or even suggested as how or when or even IF it will be added.

Factions is gonna be a new game. ppl who never played the original can just start playing factions. so i hope that means we wil have 4 new char slots again.
cuz i read something about 'maybe 1 additional slot'.
Will there be 4 new char slots when you buy gw factions?
Maybe its because i dont understand all english words...sry

how do i politely say that is idiotic?

WHAT CONTENT?

ALL YOU ARE GETTING FROM CHAPTER 1 IS 6 CORE CHARACTERS.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS A WHOLE NEW FRESH GAME WITH IMPROVEMENTS.

NAME ANYTHING ELSE THAN THE CORE 6 PROFESSIONS THAT CARRY OVER.

NEW CONTENT IS TOTAL IF YOU MAKE AN ASSASSIN/RITUALIST AND DONT USE THE OLD.

FULL NEW GAME FULL NEW PRICE AND IT IS OPTIONAL

Default Question about Guild Wars: Faction

Will there be any connection between the normal Guild Wars and Guild Wars: Faction??

I mean trading stuff or battles between GW and GWF?

Also, does everyone start with a new account or does the character you have now on GW continue in GWF??

Default Couple of questions about new content

Hey all..

Been away for about 4 months and just came back a couple of days ago and heard about this new add on to the game.

First I hear about this key, but how do you get it? and second will there be much PVE in the Xpack as I did quite a bit of PVP and some GVG, but find I like the PVE better.

Any replies appreciated

I don't mean to sound umm..not helpful, but please use the search button, look at the thread about factions, or generally look through the many posts asking the same questions. Ok, thanks.

Let me explain then the whole point of a "stand alone game". There is more then just professions but a whole lot of game mechanics that do not show a lot of tangible product or content... this is called programming.

In order to make chapter 2 stand alone and compatible with chapter 1 means that a lot of the underlying scrips must be the same. A lot of that is just in the six professions... all the same stuff for the physical build (perhaps and hopefully some new stuff as well and no one has said the you won't have the same headsets and what not for the orignal professions)... etc... perhaps they won't have access to the elite skills in chapter one but there are a hell of a lot core skills that will be included.

Actually I should pause and say that the thought of new skills doesn't excite me... core skills are actually very very good if used correctly... and honestly some of the descriptions of the new skills sound like the old core skills uberized.

Now I am not so completely innate that I cannot see that 90% of the content will be new content and I am also not saying that I actually care how much the new chapter will cost as I don‘t plan on purchasing it and those that want to will pay the price even if it was $100.00. Ya'll asked why people had a problem with the price and flamed those people... who would want to go back and post an intelligent response to people who can only flame (except me because I don't care what anybody thinks of me) ...therefore I answered.

Well that's what I was wondering about. It says to click on guildwars.com there for a key I guess, but there is nothing new there. I would like to see the new stuff on the 22nd and just not sure what to do. My apologies if I seem like a newb but I don't understand this key stuff.

Thanks

I'm going to direct everyone in this thread to read:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=106534

It's a sticky with just about 90% of the information people are asking in here. Yes they have announced new hairstyles and it is definitive.

If you have Chapter 1 then all your stuff from Chapter 1 will carry over to Chapter 2.

You are paying for the new chapter because it's a new game. You don't pay a monthly fee. How else did you figure Anet was going to be able to keep pushing us new content and keep paying employees? Retail sales die down after so long. The game was released in April. Figure about $15 a month since April (or whenever you bought the game) that's $120 I would have all ready spent in my book and the new chapter still has a few months before being released. So I'm saving money and getting a ton of new content.

Answering these type of questions just make one's post count look better.

1.Yes. There will be a connection for charachter cross over. You need to have chapter 2 and chapter 1 to do so.

2. Account will be the same. The additional space added is still being debated among fans and has not yet been confirmed by anet on how many they will be adding.
